Colleen Johnston
My mother loved taking photographs and now I have many memories to look back on because of her. Some family photographs I have, date back to the 1800s which captures the history of their lives – that moment in time.
Painting was my first artistic pursuit discovering an interest in colour, shape and the female form represented in landscapes, trees and shapely vases hence my attraction to feline shapes. Surprise!
I grew up on the northern beaches of Sydney but moving to Phillip Island I was still painting, then discovered the Camera Club. Photography, instead of painting, fitted into my busy lifestyle better. Loving the group and the encouragement that has been given I have progressed to an improved level with their help and stimulation. My interests are gravitating towards flowers and macro photography with colour and shape still my main attraction.
